Slack welcomes new hires with brand love
TL;DR: Slack takes employee wellness very seriously. Boundless helped Slack create a “Welcome to Slack” kit that warmed the hearts of its newest team members, complete with a journal, stickers, tote bag, and more. Now that’s Brand Love.
overview
With more than 12 million daily users, Slack has become the go-to communications tool for businesses in the digital age, and it’s always looking to up the ante. The decorated brand is committed to making our workdays simpler and more productive. It’s a mission Slack takes seriously not only with its customers, but also with its new hires. Because the brand knows that when you treat people well, they’ll return the favor.
strategy & goals
Together with Boundless, Slack brainstormed a Welcome To Slack Kit that would kick off each onboarding employee relationship with a bang. People do their best work when they feel like they’re part of the team. The goal was to create a Welcome To Slack Kit designed to fit seamlessly into Slack’s branding and make the company’s new employees feel right at home — like they were family.
results
Our team worked side-by-side with Slack’s crew to create a perfectly designed goodie bag that fit with the brand. The kit included:
- Journal
- Full-color stickers
- Tote bag
- Canteen
- Pen
- Official “Welcome To Slack” booklet
conclusion
While Slack could have used a simple digital welcome kit, it knew that positive relationships start with happy initial encounters. The Welcome To Slack Kit made a big splash with newbies, giving them an exciting experience of early connection with the Slack brand.
